| Daniel at WABC-TV in New York |
Before writing a memoir, I wrote the news.
I spent more than two decades working in television news, many of those years in New York City.
Over the course of my career, I worked as a news writer and producer at CNN, MSNBC, WCBS, and WABC, helping shape the stories millions of viewers watched unfold each day. I was also part of a newsroom team at KMGH in Denver that earned a nomination for a Best Daytime Newscast Emmy.
Television news moves fast. Decisions are made in minutes. Deadlines arrive whether you're ready or not.
These stories aren't about headlines you've already read. They're about what happened behind the scenes: the moments of confusion, humor, humanity, and unexpected perspective that viewers never saw.
What to Expect
- Behind-the-scenes stories from major television newsrooms
- Memories from historic coverage and breaking news events
- The realities of life as a TV news employee
- Funny, frustrating, and unforgettable newsroom moments
- Reflections on how television news has changed over the years
