I’m Daniel, the voice behind Soap Opera Reviews.

Before I started writing about soaps, I worked in television news in New York City as a writer and producer at CNN, MSNBC, WCBS, and WABC.

When I worked as a WGA news writer at WCBS in the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City from 2007-2009, our newsroom sat right next door to the studio where Guiding Light was filmed. 

Backstage was literally steps from my desk. 

I grew up watching Guiding Light with my mother and sister in small town Iowa, and eventually found myself wandering its halls, meeting actors, and witnessing its final days firsthand. 

I went from superfan to accidental insider, and I'm sharing my stories with you.

I’ve also competed on a reality show, worked with a long-time Young and the Restless actress, and spent years inside the high-pressure world of the television news media, and you'll discover all of my stories on this site.
