YOUNG AND RESTLESS RECAP FOR JUNE 2, 2026 • Matt panics after remembering everything and begs for his life, Victor thanks Phyllis, Adam and Sally talk about her pregnancy and the baby they lost.

In Tuesday's The Young and the Restless recap, Matt Clark panics after remembering all of his evil deeds, Victor thanks Phyllis for helping save Nick's life, and Adam and Sally remember the baby they lost.

IS MATT THE MONSTER BACK?

At Noah's club, which looks just like Matt's old club in Los Angeles, Matt remembers being a monster. He remembers being Mitch, a memory which he abhors. He remembers making Noah take drugs so Matt wouldn't kill Sienna. He remembers telling Sienna he's Matt Clark, not Mitch. Memories flood back: choking out Nick behind the wheel, telling Nick that he's going after everyone and that he'll finally be reunited with Sharon. Matt Clark remembers EVERYTHING!

But get this, Matt breaks down crying behind Noah's bar, telling everyone he is so, so sorry. Are they crocodile tears or the real thing? I'm betting he's about to be reformed thanks to the acting chops of his portrayer, Roger Howarth. One, three-year contract, coming right up.

Matt tells Sienna she shouldn't be around him; he's not safe. Sharon starts analyzing the situation. Sienna tries talking a sobbing Matt down. She asks if he wants to hurt anyone now? He says no and tries to leave the bar because he can't breathe, but Nick steps in front of him and stops him. BTW, Matt is now crying like the cowardly lion from The Wizard of Oz. It's pretty extraordinary.

Matt says he understands why Nick doesn't like him; he hates himself, too. Matt says he doesn't want to die. What can he do to redeem himself? Please, just give him a chance. Matt doesn't want to die, and it can't end without him doing something correctly. Matt is having a major panic attack.

Nick, Sharon and Noah discuss who to call: the police? The feds? Nick takes Matt away and tells everyone to stay put and not to follow him. Sharon, Noah, and Sienna are left at the club.

VICTOR THANKS PHYLLIS

Phyllis shows up at Victor's front door with her tail between her legs. She slowly saunters into the ranch and says she is looking for Nick. Victor says he's not there and that they should have a talk. Phyllis starts the talk by asking about Nick. Victor says he's OK, and they will help him get better. Phyllis asks how it all happened. Victor says that after the accident with Matt Clark, Nick ran out of pain meds, and Matt gave him fentanyl. Phyllis had no idea about Matt dealing drugs, but knew about Matt's past with Nick.

Victor says it was Matt who helped save Nick's life. Phyllis says he must have been really scared, and Victor agrees. He was terrified. The moustache thanks Phyllis for helping to save Nick, her ex-husband's life. She says Matt helped, too. She starts crying because she froze at the moment, and Nick could've died. I get the feeling this is all the start of Matt's redemption story and his coupling with Phyllis.

Victor thanks Phyllis again, and Phyllis says Nick is the father of her child; of course, she helped to save Nick. A crying Phyllis asks Victor to please tell Nick she would like to see him. As she's leaving, Victor thanks Phyllis again for stopping by the ranch.

BACK AT THE CLUB

Sienna is freaked out. Sharon asks Noah and Sienna how much damage needs to be done before this all ends. Over drinks, the trio discusses Matt the maniac. Sharon says Matt has always gotten pleasure from other people's pain, ever since high school. Today, that was not there. Sienna says she's never seen Matt like he was today, remorseful.

Sharon isn't sure if it was all real. I mean... are any of us sure?

Noah asks if Matt will change forever or will the moster return? Noah wonders what Nick is doing, but Sharon has no idea. Sienna asks if Sharon's worried. Of course, Sharon says. Sharon hopes Nick has called the police, and Matt will go to prison.

MATT GOES BACK INTO LOCKUP

Nick takes Matt back to Matt's holding cell (aka the Newman Ranch gym). Matt is sobbing and apologizing to Nick. Nick leaves and says he'll be back. Matt has many more flashbacks of himself being a maniacal madman. It's clear he really is disgusted by himself. I think he's gonna need some therapy. Y&R, please do not allow Sharon to be his therapist. It's so wrong.

FATHER/SON INTERVENTION

Nick heads over to the living room to see Victor, who tells his son that Phyllis stopped by to see him. Nick says that will have to wait, he has Matt in the gym. Nick tells him about Noah's new club that looks just like Matt's in L.A. Nick says Matt's memory came flooding back when Nick took Matt there.

Victor reminds Nick that Matt saved his life after he overdosed. Victor asks his son to leave Matt to him because Nick needs treatment for his addiction. Nick says he'll get treatment after he deals with Matt. An angry Victor says no, he's getting treatment now. You got that?!

EXES CLASH

At Society, Phyllis sits at the bar. Nick appears and gives her a big hug. He thanked her for saving his life. She says she knew something was off with Nick and could see it, but didn't know exactly what. She asks if Matt really got him addicted to fentanyl. He nods and asks her not to tell Summer. She asks if he's going to rehab and if she's going to prison despite handing Matt Clark over like she promised him.

Nick tells her there are pending charges against Matt, drug trafficking and kidnapping. Matt went on the run, and then Phyllis harbored a criminal. Phyllis says not true, Matt didn't even know his name. She says now Nick's harboring a criminal. Nick fires back, not true, we didn't get him a hotel room like you did.

Phyllis flips her lid and says Nick promised her that if she handed over Matt, Nick would get the charges against her dropped. Nick hits back with the fact that Phyllis has Newman Enterprises, after stealing it from their family. Phyllis is now outraged and asks Nick what is going on. Who is this person in front of her? She says she saved Nick's life. WTF?

Looks like Nick's out for some revenge.

VICTOR VISITS MATT

Victor visits Matt in the gym and says nothing. Matt unloads his guilty conscience on Victor. Victor says Matt may have saved his son's life, but Matt's a bad person. Matt says the old Matt doesn't have a soul. Matt says Victor probably thinks there's no way a man like him could ever be redeemed. Victor asks Matt if he thinks he should be punished for his crimes. Matt says he wants the world to be a better place, and it can't be with him in it. This scene was pretty powerful.

Matt says he doesn't understand the feeling he had while he was a criminal. The voice inside him would always say don't do it, but he would always do the bad thing anyway. Matt says he's not sure if that bad voice is gone, but he doesn't want it to come back.

Matt begs Victor to let him live, and Matt will prove that he won't hurt anyone ever again. Matt tells Victor to just tell him what to do, and he'll do it. It looks like Victor is considering it.

BABY TALK BETWEEN EXES

Adam bumps into Sally, and the conversation quickly turns from her wedding to Billy (which he supports) to her pregnancy.  Adam says Billy told him about it. They talk about the baby they lost, Ava. Sally says she sees Ava in her dreams: a glow of love, her smile, and her hair.

In her most recent dream, Sally and Ava were at the beach having a great time. It felt safe. The dream ended with her watching her play in the water. Someone else was there with her; she didn't see who it was, but she thinks it was Adam. Ava was safe because of Adam.

Adam is comforted by the story. He asks if Sally's scared of this pregnancy. She says no. He says she'll be a great mother. Talk turns to Connor. He's a full-on teen now. She tells Adam he's a great father, and even in her dreams, he's the dad Ava deserved.

She says she really wants to be a good mom, and Adam says she'll be great and then leaves.
