As the light faded at CBS Daytime, a lifelong fan ended up working inside the CBS Broadcast Center, just steps away from the soundstage where Guiding Light filmed its final years.

My name is Daniel. I grew up in Iowa watching soaps and never imagined I would later work in New York City inside the same building where daytime television’s longest-running drama was coming to an end.

My desk was located just steps from the Guiding Light soundstage.

I watched, quietly, as an era of television came to a close.

This site is a record of those years.

It is part memoir, part media history, and part personal archive.
