Doug Brings Leo Into a Dangerous Situation
Doug stumbled across something way more alarming than his tab at the Pub. A mystery envelope with surveillance photos of Ari and Holly and a creepy little note warning it’d be a shame if anything happened to those pretty faces. Nothing says “family man in crisis” like seeking help from Leo Stark.
Interrupting Leo and Javi mid-make-out, Doug barged in and laid the whole mess out. Turns out he got tangled in a shady side hustle delivering goods to a fence, then got distracted by a woman and woke up to an empty car. Now he owes serious cash to some very unfriendly people. Leo agreed to spot him a grand and also mentioned he’s hot on the trail of Julie’s necklace. But honestly, is that necklace worth risking lives over?
When Doug left, Javi tried to reignite the romance, but Leo had firefighter fantasies that involved fewer candles and more turnout gear. Doug, meanwhile, ignored a call from Ari.
Chad and Cat Take a Step Forward
Cat was in her own world dancing around with a duster when her brother Aaron popped in from out of town to walk with his graduating class. Once he left, Chad showed up for an overdue heart-to-heart. He apologized for Jennifer throwing Cat out and made it clear he wasn’t picking sides in the family drama. Chad knows a thing or two about loss and forgiveness, and he’s not about to let his parents’ grief dictate who he’s allowed to be around.
Cat worried about being a trigger for his family, but Chad wasn’t having it. Abby is gone, and no one can change that. What they can change is how much more pain they pile onto that loss. Chad’s ready to keep living, and he thinks maybe Cat is too. They agreed to take baby steps back into the world together. She even offered to cook him dinner to make up for her disastrous skydiving idea. He didn’t need much convincing.
Tate, Sophia, and Holly Get Tangled in Baby Drama
Tate showed up ready to party with Sophia in their matching Class of 2025 shirts, but she was not feeling festive. Her baby was playing soccer in her stomach, and her nerves were through the roof. He tried to be supportive, even putting a hand on her belly. Sophia called it their baby, and suddenly this little triangle with Holly got a whole lot messier.
Sophia admitted she’s had a crush on Tate for years but isn’t ready to give up her life to be a mom. She wants to find an adoptive family before the baby arrives because if she waits, she might never let go. Ari had questions and even threw a little shade, wondering if Sophia was keeping the baby just to keep Tate. Sophia insisted this isn’t some 1950s morality tale. She’s 18, not ready to raise a kid, and she wants Tate to want her for real, not out of obligation.
Holly popped back into the scene just in time to find out her mom is coming home for graduation and she might be heading to university in Europe. She was waitlisted at the Sorbonne, while Tate is looking at Salem U. He admitted that rehab threw him off track and he’s still carrying guilt over taking the fall for her drug mess. But he’d do it all again for her. That emotional hug might as well have had fireworks.
Gabi and Javi’s Tension Turns to Triumph
Gabi caught Javi in the kitchen and surprised him with an apology for firing him and basically being the worst. But Javi came through with news of his own. He’s officially been accepted into the Salem Fire Department. Gabi was floored and a little impressed. The man’s about to be the hottest firefighter Salem has ever seen. They shared a supportive moment before gossiping about Chad’s drama with Cat and Philip’s miraculous awakening.
Later, Javi met Will and got filled in on John’s funeral and Leo’s heartfelt obituary. Will was surprised to see this softer side of Leo and admitted he might’ve underestimated him. Javi and Leo went home to celebrate his new job, with Leo clearly ready to give Javi some very specific congratulations.
