Beyond the Gates Recap - Thursday, June 5, 2025 | Anita's Meltdown, Sharon's Fury & Leslie's Demand for Ted

The claws came out, the tears came down, and the cops almost got their girl — emphasis on almost. On Thursday's Beyond the Gates, Anita had a full-on emotional crash landing, Sharon threw a tantrum for the ages, and Leslie played the police like a violin. Meanwhile, Laura returned to work with more drama than Elon Musk's Twitter feed, and Ted and Nicole’s reunion? Painfully polite with a side of cringe.

Anita | BTG, CBS

Anita’s Door Becomes the Battlefield

Let’s get something straight — Anita might say she’s done with the Articulettes, but she’s dragging her feet on officially canceling that reunion, and Vernon knows it. According to him, there’s still a spotlight-shaped hole in her soul. But when she finally comes clean about skipping Barbara’s memorial break to launch her solo career? Whew. That little nugget rewrites the whole diva narrative.

Enter Sharon, who does not appreciate being told the reunion is off — especially not by Tracy. She charges over to Anita’s house breathing fire and ready to brawl. Tracy’s playing peacemaker, Vernon’s playing referee (“Holler if there’s bloodshed!”), but Anita? Oh, Anita has receipts. She blasts Sharon and Tracy for sticking around after Barbara got fired, then dares them to act innocent. The words? Savage. The vibes? Nuclear.

And when Sharon softens and tries to find common ground? Too late. Anita slams the emotional door and delivers a final mic drop: “The Articulettes are as dead as Barbara.” Cue the tears on the entryway sofa.

Laura’s Back and Already Overwhelmed

Fresh outta the hospital and thinking she’s ready to rejoin the workforce, Laura walks into Nicole’s place expecting a quiet first day — instead, she gets a party and Kat’s unfiltered opinions. Kat’s convinced Eva teamed up with her villainous mother to steal Laura’s job, but Nicole and Laura are in “Let’s defend Eva” mode. Kat disagrees, naturally. “I have my opinion, and it happens to be right!” she huffs, because humility is not her brand.

While Nicole’s out, Laura’s left to untangle the mess Eva made of her work system. FYI: it’s not going well. Enter Eva, summoned by a desperate text and ready to help — no strings, no snark, just a sincere apology about what Laura went through. Progress? Possibly. Trust? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Ted Shocks Everyone — Including Himself

Who knew Ted had a conscience buried under all that dad guilt and ex-lover drama? Over lunch with Eva, he actually admits that he was the married one and Leslie wasn’t the only one to blame. Eva, clearly floored by this uncharacteristic self-awareness, owns up to blaming her mom for a little too much. Growth is happening, people. Slowly. Painfully. But happening.

Just as Eva exits to help Laura, she runs smack into Nicole — awkward city, population two. Ted and Nicole are left alone to chit-chat, with Ted doing all the work and Nicole offering just enough politeness not to slap him with a cease and desist. Baby steps, Ted.

Leslie Turns a Police Raid Into a Flirt Fest

Back at Camp Chaos, Leslie is lounging in her lair, wondering where Eva might have hidden her shady accessories, when Officer Jacob shows up with a warrant and some serious attitude. She lets him poke around while turning up the flirt factor to full blast. He finds nothing, of course, but promises she won’t get away forever. She responds with a private little monologue worthy of a Bond villain, swearing she’ll “own him and his whole damn jurisdiction.” Charming.

Kat tells Jacob that Eva probably has the evidence. Jacob, in his infinite wisdom, tells her to cool it. Because ignoring the only rational person in this investigation always ends well.

And just to keep things interesting, Leslie crashes Ted’s conversation with Nicole like a champagne-soaked wrecking ball, demanding he rein in the cops or face the consequences. Given that threats are basically her love language, Ted better brace himself. Trouble is circling, and Leslie’s holding the leash.
