Days of Our Lives Recap - Monday, May 26, 2025 | Xander Goes Full Villain Mode as Marlena Begs for a Miracle

When a love-struck doctor’s praying, a Kiriakis is raging, and a wedding announcement drops in the middle of a hospital crisis, you know it’s another chaotic day in Salem. On Monday’s Days of Our Lives, Marlena pleads for divine intervention, Paul shares life-changing news, and Xander takes petty to a whole new level—again.

Marlena Pleads While Belle Plays Medical Power Broker

Over in the hospital chapel, Marlena turns to the heavens with tear-streaked cheeks and a full flashback montage. Yes, we’re talking her first demon possession, Stefano, Orpheus, Kristen, and all the other nightmares John Black somehow survived. Marlena begs God not to take her man now—not after all they’ve endured. Just when her prayer session hits peak desperation, Belle struts in, proxy papers in hand and fully prepared to make the hard calls. Fortunately, John made it crystal clear: he wants to keep swinging until the final bell. Belle’s convinced her dad’s got another miracle up his sleeve. Hopeful? Sure. Terrified? You bet.

Xander Doubles Down on Disaster

Meanwhile, Xander is busy torching every bridge in sight. Maggie delivers a scathing read that should’ve come with a fire hazard warning. She lays it all out—Victor would never let Xander own half the mansion, especially after what he pulled with Philip. Xander tries to play the victim, insisting all he wants is a relationship with his daughter. Nice try, but Maggie’s not buying what he’s selling. She snaps that he didn’t just betray Sarah—he played them both for fools. And for that, she’s done.

Not only does Maggie evict him from the mansion, she does it with the kind of grace only a woman who kept Victor Kiriakis in line for decades could muster. She boots him back to his old apartment and makes it abundantly clear: the front door of that mansion is closed—for good.

Sarah’s Had Enough of Everyone’s Nonsense

As if Sarah didn’t already have enough emotional whiplash, she runs into Kayla and they take a moment to catch up on their respective traumas—because who in Salem isn’t traumatized right now? Then Brady swoops in to grill her about Philip, but she’s not ready to dig into that mess just yet. Her patience hits its limit when Xander waltzes into Philip’s hospital room. With Philip out for tests, Sarah’s left alone with her least favorite person. She threatens to call security but ends up unloading on him about John’s condition. Xander throws it right back in her face, blaming everything on her secret-keeping. Classic Xander—deflect, blame, destroy.

Maggie’s Nightmare Grows in the Dark Alley

If you thought Xander’s meltdown was over, think again. While Maggie’s reeling from all the day’s emotional gut-punches, she realizes Victor’s portrait is suddenly missing. Cue the horror. Turns out, Xander has taken his tantrum to new levels of disrespect. In a grimy alley, he shreds Victor’s painting like he’s auditioning for a villain role in the next Batman movie. Forget redemption arcs—Xander’s booking a first-class ticket to the Kiriakis blacklist.

Paul Drops Happy News in the Midst of All the Chaos

Thank the soap gods for Paul, who brings a rare glimmer of joy to the chaos. While Brady’s still reeling from John’s condition, Paul announces that he and Andrew are getting married in Salem. Finally, a plot twist that doesn’t involve betrayal or life-threatening injuries. Even Brady has to admit they scored big getting John as their dad. It's just too bad it took near-death experiences to bring everyone together.
