Doug Dabbles in Poetry and Disaster
Doug might be dodging loan sharks, but that won’t stop him from brushing up on his GED with Holly—because clearly, nothing says “I’m responsible” like quoting Emerson in between dodging thugs and ex-girlfriends. He claims he’s going to win Julie back with a necklace, but considering he also confesses he betrayed her, we’re not exactly optimistic. Holly tries to point him toward John Black for help, since John’s rolling back into Salem tonight, but Doug’s got leads of his own to chase. Right. Sure.
Marlena’s Party Gets Crashed… By the Truth
It’s Ari’s birthday, so naturally, Marlena and Gabi break out the cake and the denial. Ari plays along, but the truth slips: She’s not walking at graduation. Cue Gabi’s meltdown and Ari’s distraction tactics. “It’s performative,” she says, which is teenage for “I have other plans, leave me alone.” After Marlena peaces out to greet her man, Gabi thinks she’s having a tender moment with her daughter… until she realizes the girl's Houdini’d herself out of the house. Where is Ari? Celebrating her birthday with Doug. In his hotel room. Yes, that Doug. The GED tutor. Somebody light a candle for Gabi’s blood pressure.
Steve and Shawn Enter Meth Lab Territory, Because of Course They Do
Steve and Shawn are out here scouring the Dark Web like it’s SoapOperaReviews.com, tracking down a drug called Versavix that might help Bo. They make the connection to Asher, a guy with a sketchy past and a fake name. Naturally, their next move is to meet up at a busted warehouse/meth lab, because safety’s for amateurs. Dr. Russell tags along and is immediately horrified. Good instincts, Doc.
Things escalate when Hope calls: Bo’s getting his Last Rites. Shawn wants to stay. Steve’s trying to act like the brains of the operation, but let’s be real—nobody’s making smart choices here. Then boom—John shows up in a hoodie like Batman, just in time to fist-bump his way into saving the day.
Belle and Brady Argue Over EJ—Again
Over at the Evans house, Belle is setting up for Daddy John’s return party while Brady is setting fire to her patience. They squabble about EJ—because Belle’s still under the delusion that her man is a changed man. Brady’s not buying it. They start hurling accusations, family drama, and passive-aggressive digs until they finally call a ceasefire, just in time for Marlena to stroll in with tears in her eyes. Roman called. The situation with Bo? Not good.
Ari Plays Grown-Up in All the Wrong Ways
While Holly’s busy being stalked by a mystery creeper in the town square, Ari's proving she’s not ready for adulthood after all. She's shacked up in Doug’s hotel bed, turning birthday candles into bad decisions. Doug finally notices her phone blowing up and she shrugs it off like it’s a spam call. Sorry, Gabi, but your daughter is otherwise occupied.
And Finally… John’s Back, Baby
Just when everyone’s spiraling into despair, the door opens and the crew yells “Surprise!”—but not for John. It’s Paul. John finally strolls in a second later, casual as you please. Turns out, he had a side quest. No big deal, just saving Bo’s life, no thanks to half of Salem losing their minds. Classic John.
