Days of Our Lives Recap | Xander & Sarah's Brutal Showdown - Wednesday, May 21, 2025 [SPOILERS]

On Wednesday's Days of Our Lives, Xander and Sarah went twelve rounds in a brutal showdown, and Johnny and Chanel finally get a key to freedom — without Paulina barging in mid-kiss. Here’s your full episode recap.

Xander & Sarah | DOOL, Peacock

Johnny and Chanel Finally Get Their Space (And a Whole Lot More)

Johnny and Chanel were playing house while boxing up Abe and Paulina’s old place — and they were ready to do more than just fold cardboard. But just when the shirts came off, guess who popped in? Yep, Paulina, the queen of timing. She handed over the keys, gave her blessings, and dipped, leaving the lovebirds speechless and squealing like kids. Next stop? The hospital’s Sip ‘n Paint fundraiser — because nothing says “we’ve moved in” like sipping Chardonnay while pretending to be Van Gogh.

Philip’s Situation Has Everyone Side-Eyeing Xander

At the hospital, Philip’s still laid out, and Alex is camped at his bedside like the world’s most stressed-out cousin. Brady walks in, takes one look, and says what we’re all thinking: “Somebody really messed him up.” And let’s just say Xander’s name is flying around the room like glitter at a drag show. They both flash back to his recent sketchy behavior — and let’s not forget the infamous bat incident. That man’s got more red flags than a Daytona race.

Sip ‘n Paint Gets Weird Fast

Meanwhile, Cat and Stephanie are trying to pull together a fundraiser in the empty Small Bar, and it’s not going well. People are dropping out left and right — except Chad, who shows up just in time to flirt with Cat and find out he’s signed up for skydiving as a first date. Stephanie? Not amused. She’s still protective of her ex and not thrilled that Cat’s throwing herself back into Chad’s orbit. The vibes? Messy.

Then, just as we’re settling in for some peaceful painting, Paulina announces she’d prefer to capture the male form. Not to be outdone, Cat tries to rope Chad into stripping down for inspiration. He challenges her to do the same. Let’s just say the fruit bowl won.

Xander and Sarah Go Full Nuclear

Now let’s talk about the confrontation. Sarah was already a mess after learning Philip’s in bad shape, and her gut told her exactly who did it. Xander, of course. Maggie gave her the lowdown on his bloody-knuckled tantrum and warned her to brace for impact. Right on cue, Xander sauntered in, serving sneers and attitude like hors d’oeuvres.

Sarah tried to keep it civil — for about thirty seconds — before diving straight into the accusations. Xander clapped back with sarcasm, deflection, and that vintage villain energy. She grabbed his injured hand and demanded the truth. He dodged, mocked, and then hit her with a big fat, “I know you lied to me about Philip.”

Boom.

Sarah confessed. She knew Philip was alive, kept it from Xander, and tried to justify it all with some moral high ground about protecting him from himself. Xander wasn’t having it. His retorts were pure fire: “Maybe your mistake was thinking I could ever be good.” They slung truth bombs like grenades, and by the end of it, Sarah kicked him out. But not before making it crystal clear: Victoria stays with her. Period.

Xander’s Heartbreak, Sarah’s Tears

Xander packed his bags, sulked into Victoria’s room, and poured his heart out to the baby. It was raw, tender, and just when you start to feel for him, Sarah appeared in the doorway like a ghost of heartbreak past. They shared one last teary moment. He told her to take care of their daughter. She told him she’ll always love him — just not enough to live with him anymore.

And with that, the door closed. On their marriage. On the lies. On the chance of a happily ever after.

Back at the Fundraiser, the Paint Gets Wild

At Small Bar, the fundraiser turned into a full-blown party. Paulina painted what was definitely not a fruit bowl, and Chanel and Johnny unveiled matching “Home Sweet Home” masterpieces — because nothing says adulting like kitschy art. Brady offered to escort a delightfully tipsy Paulina home (and now they’re neighbors — buckle up), while Stephanie beamed over the night’s success.

Cat, though? She looked like she might be rethinking that skydiving date, while Chad watched her walk away with a mix of curiosity and confusion.
