Stephanie’s “Smut” Gets Alex All Hot and Bothered
Alex was living his best life reading Stephanie’s scandalous novel in bed when she woke up to find him completely obsessed. And not just with the steamy stuff — though, let's be real, that’s half the fun — he thinks she’s got legit writing talent. Titan-level talent, no less. Stephanie acts all modest and horrified that anyone might know she wrote “salacious drivel.” But Alex? Already cooking up pen names like he’s in witness protection. The praise turns flirty real fast, and let’s just say the book wasn’t the only thing heating up the sheets. Afterward, Alex dives into work, dealing with Xander’s hospital acquisition setup, while Stephanie finds out EJ is trying to get his claws into the deal, too. Cue the drama.

Johnny Tells EJ Exactly Where He Can Shove His Apology
Over at the pub, EJ’s trying hard to play the sensitive father card. He even drops the whole “I forgive you” line like that’s going to fix decades of damage. EJ tries to tie everything back to that fateful night he got shot, assuming that’s why Johnny pulled out of the adoption. But Johnny? Not here for the bonding moment. He coldly tells his dad he’s not sorry for that night — and follows it up with “I hate you. I always will.” Brutal.

EJ snaps and warns him to back off. Johnny claps back that the “new” EJ was never real — that the coma didn’t change a thing. He announces he’s done for good, but not before dropping a final bomb: he’s taking a job with Xander at Titan, just to stick it to dear old dad. Exit Johnny. EJ? Left punching furniture.
Javi Saves the Day — Literally
Meanwhile, Sarah nearly drops dead in the square after munching on a scone full of pistachio milk — and guess who jumps into action? Javi! The man didn’t blink. He grabbed her epipen and jabbed her like he’s done it a thousand times. Xander shows up mid-panic, and the whole town's left stunned that Javi just casually saved a life. Cat hands over some water, and before Xander can thank Javi, he and Leo have vanished like superheroes after a rescue.
Then Chanel realizes the scones were hers — her mistake. She accidentally gave Sarah the deadly nut milk treat. Cue instant meltdown. Felicity catches heat until Chanel rushes out to take the blame herself. Sarah’s surprisingly chill about it all, which is more than we can say for Xander, who’s seconds from popping a blood vessel until Cat tells him to chill and apologize to Felicity. He softens — barely — and bolts to the ambulance with Sarah.
Chanel Cracks, and Johnny's There to Catch the Pieces
Chanel shuts down the bakery for a bit and helps Felicity gather her things. Once alone, she breaks down crying. Right on cue, Johnny walks by and rushes in to hold her. She melts into his arms like butter on toast. We’re talking major nostalgia vibes. She admits she’s missed this, missed him — even if he broke her heart.

Javi’s Hero Complex Comes With Baggage
Back in the park, Leo wants Javi to do a victory lap and bask in the hero glow. But Javi’s not feeling it. He opens up about his past — a failed firefighter/EMT career that ended for reasons he’s clearly not ready to unpack. It’s a sensitive topic, and Javi shuts it down fast. Leo tries to lighten the mood with some classic Leo flirting (and firefighter fantasies), but Javi’s still holding those cards close to his chest.

Hospital Drama Heats Up
At the hospital, Sarah’s recovering when Xander arrives, guilt-ridden and apologetic. He blames himself for not noticing the allergic reaction sooner. Across town, EJ tries roping Chad into helping him snag the hospital deal. Kayla’s standing in his way, but maybe Chad’s charm can work some magic on the board. Chad agrees, but warns EJ: Xander’s gunning for the deal too, and it won’t be easy.
Chanel Drops a Bomb on Johnny
The episode wraps up with Johnny comforting Chanel as she tries to process the disaster she caused. He reassures her that Sarah will be fine, that forgiveness is possible — even likely. Chanel, feeling safer and more vulnerable than she has in a long time, tells Johnny she missed him and maybe, just maybe, she’s ready to let him come home.
But not before asking the million-dollar question that could blow everything sky-high:
“Johnny. Did you shoot your father?”
