B&B Recap | Hope & Carter Embrace After Her Meeting with Liam - Friday, May 2, 2025 [SPOILERS]

In Friday's The Bold and the Beautiful full episode recap: Hope’s love life is on the edge, Carter’s pleading his case, Liam’s hiding his devastating diagnosis, and Brooke’s still holding the flag for “destiny.”

Hope & Carter | B&B, CBS

Finn Drops the Bombshell & It’s Brutal

In Finn’s office, we find out that the universe really is that cruel. He’s just gotten off the phone with Dr. Buckingham, and the news he delivers to Steffy is the kind of punch-you-in-the-gut twist this show lives for: Liam’s brain mass is inoperable. That’s right, folks—Liam is dying, and there’s nothing they can do. Steffy, ever the emotionally resilient queen, is left reeling. The drama with Hope suddenly feels embarrassingly petty.

Finn breaks it down for her: they don’t know how long Liam has, and the location of the mass means surgery isn’t even an option. Cue tears, heartbreak, and the gut-wrenching realization that Liam wants to keep this all hush-hush. Steffy rightfully points out that Hope needs to know the truth, but Liam’s out here playing noble martyr.

Liam’s Sudden Clarity

Over at the cliff house, Liam is playing philosopher by the sea. He tells Hope it’s great that Steffy and Finn are letting him crash in their guesthouse. You know, just casually mooching in Malibu while hiding the whole dying thing. Hope, clueless about the severity of the situation, asks why he isn’t at his dad’s. He shrugs it off—he just likes the ocean view. Priorities.

But Liam isn’t just being evasive—he’s on a mission. A matchmaking mission. He’s suddenly super invested in getting Hope to forgive Carter. You know, the guy who broke her heart not that long ago. Liam waxes poetic about how short life is, how love matters, and how Carter is actually a good guy (despite the recent evidence). Hope, understandably suspicious, points out she doesn’t need a man to be whole. But Liam insists—Carter wants her, and she should give him a shot. Honestly, it’s all very "ghost of Christmas future" energy.

Hope tears up, smirks at Liam’s unexpected Cupid act, and decides to text Carter. Yes, just like that.

Carter: Hopeless Romantic in a Designer Suit

Meanwhile, at Forrester, Carter is moping around like a lovesick teenager. He misses Hope, hates not seeing her at work, and is essentially sighing into the void. Brooke walks in and, shocker, she agrees. They both miss Hope. Carter’s feeling the absence hard, especially since her role at Forrester and her presence in his life vanished simultaneously.

Enter Ridge, with his usual sarcasm and God-complex. He’s not here for the Hope sympathy train and makes it clear that she still owes an apology. Carter, to his credit, sticks up for her. He asks if Hope apologizes, can they please get Hope for the Future back on track? Before Ridge can deliver another smug shutdown, Carter’s phone buzzes. It’s Hope. She wants to meet.

Let the redemption tour begin.

Back at the Cliff House: Liam Fails to Come Clean—Again

After giving Hope a weird, cryptic pep talk, Liam promptly fumbles his meds all over the floor. Classic. Steffy walks in, clocking that something’s off. Liam says he just wanted a normal conversation with Hope and couldn’t bring himself to tell her the truth about his condition. Because nothing says “normal” like subtly coercing your ex into forgiving the guy who ghosted her.

Steffy | B&B

Liam | B&B

Liam doubles down, insisting Carter is Hope’s person. He tells Steffy he just wants everyone to be okay when he’s no longer around. Chilling, and yet… classic Liam.

Hope & Carter: The “Are We Doing This?” Conversation

At Brooke’s house, Hope’s in front of the mirror trying to look effortlessly perfect (and succeeding, obviously). Carter arrives and practically melts when she opens the door. She congratulates him on the fashion show, and he—bless his heart—tells her the night was amazing but felt empty without her. Romantic? Yes. Guilt-trip adjacent? Also yes.

Carter goes full-on confessional. He says he should’ve fought harder for her, and that life post-Hope has been basically a sad playlist on loop. Hope admits she read his messages but needed time. She was hurt. Deeply. Carter totally gets it, but he’s here, making one last push. He even tried to get Ridge to reconsider bringing her back to Forrester. That’s dedication, baby.

Hope drops the bombshell: her talk with Liam gave her a new perspective. She realizes she’s been holding onto too much resentment and might be ready to forgive. Carter seizes the moment like a man who knows this could be his last shot. He tells her she’s the woman he’s been searching for. That he messed up. That he wants her. Needs her. Desperately hopes she wants him back.

Does she say it? No. Does she kiss him? Not exactly. But they do embrace, and in soap-speak, that’s practically a marriage proposal.

Meanwhile, Brooke’s Not Giving Up on “Destiny”

At Forrester, while Carter’s off trying to win Hope back, Ridge and Brooke have a moment of their own. Brooke’s still dreaming about their steamy fashion show finale, and honestly, who can blame her? She’s out here remembering that showstopper moment like it was her wedding day. Ridge chuckles, clearly amused and flattered. Brooke declares that she will never give up on their destiny.

In typical Ridge fashion, he tries to stay detached, but you can tell she’s getting to him. She always does. These two are locked in an eternal tango of love, drama, and whatever ridiculous plot twist is coming next.
