A Hero’s Farewell (Off-screen, sigh...)

Christine shares with Lauren the emotional details of Chance’s funeral, held at a veterans cemetery near a devastated Nina in Los Angeles. Jill was there to support her, and the moment little Dom saluted his father broke everyone’s hearts (too bad we never saw any if it, sounds like it could've made a good episode). The ceremony was somber, beautiful, and a stark reminder to cherish loved ones. Danny, hearing the story, vows never to take time with his family for granted.

Nikki’s Near-Sell and Victor’s Secret Play

Nick is blindsided to learn Nikki almost signed Chancellor over to Cane, with Amanda ready to seal the deal then and there. Victor is more annoyed about being left out of the loop than the sale itself, but he’s certain the entire gathering was orchestrated to make it happen. Instead of striking back directly, he’s playing a long game. His plan? Have Lily charm her way into Cane’s confidence and Nick befriend him, making Cane think they’re allies. If that keeps Cane distracted from Chancellor and nudges him toward targeting Jabot, all the better.

Lily and Cane's Reunion

Lily boards what looks exactly like Cane’s French train, only to learn he has one on every continent because he finds them romantic. She finds it a bit much. He pours her tea just right, but she’s not buying the charm. She calls him out for the lives lost during his past schemes and makes it clear she doesn’t trust him. Cane claims he wants to talk about the future and fishes for signs she might still care. She shuts that down but agrees they can tell the twins about his return together if he reveals his plans for Genoa City.

Christine’s Wedding Buzz and Daniel’s Confession

The sadness of Chance’s loss gives way to joy when Christine flashes her new engagement ring to Lauren. The wedding is set for October, and Lauren is already dreaming up three gown options for the famously selective bride. Danny asks Daniel to be his best man, but Daniel refuses to play guitar at the wedding, saying music is his therapy, not a public performance. He opens up about his growing feelings for Tessa, even though she’s married to Mariah, and admits it makes him feel disloyal to Heather. Danny understands but warns it could lead to heartbreak. Christine has one big request for her big day... keep Phyllis as far away as possible so nothing ruins her happiness.

Cane’s True Target

Lauren tells Christine that Cane might be back to take over companies, but she suspects love is his real motive. Victor agrees Lily is the one Cane is truly after, which is why he wants her in position to learn the truth. Cane insists telling the twins together with Lily will help them accept his return, but Lily makes it clear she will only cooperate if he’s honest about what he’s planning.
