Spinelli and Lulu with Maxie | GH, ABC |
Curtis Suspects Drew Is the Puppet Master
Curtis brought Alexis in to untangle Stella’s insurance troubles, much to Stella’s annoyance. She finally admitted to altering some paperwork, swearing it was just to protect patients who would have lost everything if claims were denied. Alexis called it fraud, plain and simple.
The mention of Martin’s insurance drama tipped Curtis off. Drew’s name came up, and suddenly the dots connected. Curtis is convinced Drew is pulling strings, and Alexis did not exactly argue.
What Is Wrong With Maxie?
At the hospital, Lucas and Liz struggled with the fact that Maxie had not woken up. Her tests looked fine, but her silence terrified everyone. Lucas confessed he was haunted by the loss of Sam and was clinging to hope this time would be different.
Spinelli broke hearts everywhere as he sat at Maxie’s bedside, begging her to open her eyes and promising to propose the moment she did. In the lounge, Felicia admitted she feared Maxie’s miracle had run out, only for Anna to remind her that miracles do not come with expiration dates. Mac reflected on raising Georgie, Maxie, and Robin, while Cody admitted Maxie made him want to be part of the family in the first place.
Lulu Gets a Surprising Ally
Over at Maxie’s, Lulu was stunned when Dr. Obrecht knocked on the door. Instead of a fight, Lulu welcomed her in so James could see his grandmother. When Georgie blurted out that their mom was in the hospital, James accused her of lying until both Lulu and Obrecht confirmed the truth.
Dr. O reassured the kids that Maxie is strong and in good health, though she confided later to Lulu that the longer Maxie stayed unconscious, the greater the risk of a coma. Who ever thought Lulu and Obrecht would be on the same team?
Drew Tries to Twist the Narrative
At the pool, Drew clashed with Gio, who called him out for his attacks on the Qs. Drew ranted about Sonny and Michael, insisting he would get justice. Martin pushed back, warning a black eye was hardly proof of assault, and even hinted he might walk away if Drew’s statement did not line up with the facts. Drew, arrogant as ever, insisted Martin needed him more than he needed Martin.
Meanwhile, Emma confided in Gio about how scary Maxie’s situation was. Gio comforted her, admitting he knew what it was like to be a kid worried sick about a parent. Their bond continues to grow, though whether it turns into more is the question.
Michael Faces the Heat
Michael, Sonny, and Diane voluntarily met with Turner. Justine reminded them that Michael did punch Drew in public, and she had to take it seriously. Michael worried Willow might gain leverage if he were arrested.
Then came the twist: Chase revealed every single witness claimed they did not see Michael punch Drew. Drew blew a gasket, accusing Carly and Sonny of bribery. Turner snapped, warning Drew not to drag her officers through the mud. Drew turned to Martin for backup, but Martin stood with arms crossed, silent. That silence spoke volumes.
Final Scenes
At the hospital, Lucas finally revealed there was an anomaly in Maxie’s blood, an enzyme he had never seen before. Anna’s eyes went wide as she asked if it was possible Maxie had been poisoned.
At Aurora, Curtis grew more certain Drew was behind Stella’s woes, and Alexis agreed it would not be shocking. Back at the station, Drew signed his statement and demanded Martin do the same. Instead, Martin stood his ground, leaving Drew hanging in the middle of his grand scheme.
