EJ Remembers the Truth
EJ reeled after his memory snapped into focus. The shooter he’s been searching for was not Johnny at all, but little Rachel. Marlena quickly pieced it together, confirming this explains Rachel’s nightmares and upset stomach. EJ spiraled with anger that Rachel let Johnny take the blame, but Marlena reminded him the girl doesn’t even remember pulling the trigger.
When Kristen arrived, EJ broke the news gently but firmly. Kristen refused to believe it, then broke down as Marlena explained the signs had been there all along. EJ admitted Rachel never meant to hurt him, she was just desperate to find her grandmother. But his bottom line was clear: he will not let Johnny pay the price for her mistake.
Kristen’s pleas grew desperate, begging EJ not to go to the police. He softened but made it clear he has no choice if it means saving his son. Unless Kristen can find another solution, EJ may have to let the truth out. The DiMera siblings are at a brutal crossroads, and this could blow their bond apart.
Stephanie and Alex Mix Business With Pleasure
Over at Stephanie’s, she was busy playacting a murder mystery when Alex showed up and immediately carried her into his arms. Their steamy moment was interrupted when Alex revealed why he came by. On Xander’s orders, he asked Stephanie to handle Titan-DiMera PR if the Philip scandal explodes. She hesitated, then agreed, but made it clear she was only doing it for Alex, not his shady business partner.
Later, he confessed to a frat boy prank from his past that landed him a police record, which only amused her. Stephanie teased she might write it into her next novel. By the time she reappeared in a toga to keep their roleplay going, Alex had completely forgotten about corporate crisis management.
Philip Gets Shady With Gabi
Philip’s day was full of suspicion. First, he ran into Belle in the Square and gave her fake sympathy about EJ tanking their relationship. Belle saw right through him, but he still offered himself as a shoulder to lean on. Gabi soon joined them, pretending to be casual, but Philip wasn’t fooled. He questioned if she was behind the Freedom of Information Act request targeting Titan-DiMera.
Gabi swore on her daughter’s life she had nothing to do with it. Philip agreed to lunch but warned her there would be no business talk. Still, his guard is up. Salem 101: never trust a DiMera or a Hernandez when the family fortune is on the line.
Steve Hunts for the Truth
Steve pulled Belle into his office, where the memories of her father John hit hard. They shared a bittersweet moment before Steve got down to business. He wanted to know if Belle had heard anything shady about Philip and the company. Unfortunately, she reminded him that attorney-client privilege had her hands tied.
That didn’t slow Steve down. As soon as she left, he called Paul at the ISA to dig up the original court records from the case that gave Philip half of Titan. Steve knows something is off, and if Salem history is any indicator, he’s right. The question is how deep Philip’s mess really goes.
