Wednesday on Days of Our Lives EJ is desperate to remember who shot him, Marlena is holding back more than a DiMera in a custody hearing, Javi’s suspicions about Sophia grow stronger, and Belle walks in on a scene she’ll need to bleach from her memory.

Chad and Cat’s Morning After

Chad wakes up on Cat’s couch to the sight of her padding out in comfy clothes, looking fresh as a daisy. She remembers asking if she kissed him, while he keeps up the “it was just a dream” act. Cat talks herself in circles about it not meaning anything before worrying she’s talking too much, which only makes Chad stare at her harder. Just when things get charged, he suddenly feels hot — and not in the romantic way.

Javi Gets Suspicious

At home, Javi returns with Tesoro while Rafe stirs up abuela’s famous chicken tortilla soup for a sick friend. Ari stops by on her way to meet Sophia and casually mentions Sophia gave up her baby. Javi is stunned. After Ari leaves, he tells Rafe that Sophia’s mom thought Tesoro looked like her son as a baby, which makes him wonder about the boy’s background. The timing doesn’t match for Sophia to be his mother, but the thought clearly rattles him. Rafe reminds him some losses never fade, and Javi quietly agrees.

Sophia’s Day Gets Worse

In the Square, Sophia watches Tate and Holly flirting like they’re in a teenage romcom. When Ari joins her, Sophia learns Tate and Holly got close again after he saved her during the kidnapping. Sophia is floored that while she was in Chicago having Tate’s baby, he was off playing hero. Ari gushes about Little T and casually reveals Javi is her cousin, which makes Sophia shift uncomfortably. Things brighten when Ari says she’s staying in Salem for college and they might end up at Salem U together.

The Soup Connection

Back at Cat’s, Chad’s temperature hits 102, and she refuses to let him leave. Rafe drops off soup under his undercover name “James.” As they eat, Chad remarks the soup tastes just like his friend Gabi’s. When he pries about “James,” Cat lies that he’s an ex she’s seeing casually. Chad wishes her luck, but his eyes tell a different story.

Marlena Holds the Line

At the courthouse, Marlena won’t tell Belle about EJ’s hypnosis session until EJ himself waives confidentiality. He recalls calling the shooter “her,” which means Johnny could be innocent, but the identity is still blocked. Marlena thinks EJ knows the shooter and is subconsciously protecting her. EJ pushes for another session, but Marlena refuses, saying her testimony should be enough for reasonable doubt. EJ suspects she’s hiding something — maybe even about Samantha — before his mind spins toward a shocking possibility: Belle.

Belle’s Unwanted Surprise

Holly and Tate, home alone, shower separately but soon end up making out in his room. Towels drop, and the clothes follow. Unfortunately for them, Belle walks in to deliver mail and catches the scene mid-scandal. After confirming they were being careful, she tells Tate not to do that there before leaving to recover in the kitchen. Holly and Tate, unfazed, just giggle about finding a different location next time.
