Paulina's Passion and Gabi’s Gut-Punch Testimony

Paulina was a ball of nerves before testifying. One second she was stress-starving, the next she was devouring croissants. And just to raise her blood pressure a little more, the Attorney General called with a friendly reminder: mess up, and Belle’s career is toast. No pressure!

In court, Belle grilled Paulina about Johnny’s blow-up with EJ. Paulina admitted Johnny said his dad got what he deserved and refused to visit him in the hospital. Ouch. The courtroom practically gasped in unison. But when EJ pressed Paulina, she came through. She said she believed Johnny was innocent with her whole heart. We were ready for Belle to scream “Objection,” but no one stopped the show.

Then came Gabi. She testified about hearing EJ tell Johnny to put the gun down the night of the shooting, which immediately sent the courtroom into a frenzy. Oh, and did she mention she saw Ava slinking out of the mansion too? Belle probably wanted to disappear into the floor. EJ, never one to miss a cue, went into attack mode. He grilled Gabi like she was the one holding the smoking gun. Belle had to shut it down before things really exploded.

Tate Spirals While Sophia Scrambles

Tate is still stuck on Baby What’s-Her-Name and practically tackled Belle when she walked into the square. When he realized he might have been a little self-centered, he had a rare moment of clarity. Maybe, just maybe, this whole thing is about more than just him. Growth? We’ll see.

He met up with Sophia outside the pub and was surprisingly sweet, asking how she was doing. But it didn’t take long before he dropped the real reason for lunch. He wants to meet the adoptive parents. Sophia looked ready to pass out. She warned him that dragging this out would only hurt more, but Tate refused to let go.

Afterward, she ran to call Melinda, completely panicked. Melinda, cool as ever, told her to relax. Let Tate write his little letter. She’ll just reply as the parents and shut it down. Problem solved, at least for now.

Later, Tate ran into Leo and his baby, and the second he held that little bundle, he looked like he was about to burst into tears. This poor kid is not OK.

EJ Plays Nice, But Can He Be Trusted?

EJ gave Johnny a pep talk before court, all calm and fatherly, even though his version of helpful sounded a lot like “be ruthless.” Johnny asked him to ease up on Paulina, and for once, EJ actually listened. Kind of.

After court, Paulina apologized to Johnny for not being able to do more. Johnny reassured her, but she looked wrecked. Meanwhile, EJ sauntered up to Belle and offered a heartfelt apology. Then Belle — stressed, exhausted, and definitely emotionally compromised — handed him a key to her hotel room. Just like that. EJ gave the smuggest smirk imaginable, but something about it felt… wrong. Like he’d just won a game Belle didn’t even realize they were playing.
