EJ Turns Passion Into Prosecution Poison

Belle and EJ started the day in a haze of post-romantic bliss at the Salem Inn, declaring their love like nothing could touch them. But EJ clearly had other ideas. At court, Belle crossed paths with Jonathan Reiner from the state AG’s office, who made it clear he’d be keeping a close eye on her, considering she’s prosecuting her own nephew.

Johnny was already rattled about taking the stand, and EJ warned him to avoid talking about Sami’s rape. He suggested Johnny blame his anger on EJ blocking his adoption plans with Chanel. But when Belle started questioning Johnny, the truth burst out like a grenade. Johnny revealed that before EJ’s shooting, he learned EJ had raped his mother and that he had actually taken Roman’s gun because he thought about using it. Belle looked to the AG rep, who nodded in approval before slipping out, satisfied.

EJ then took over and, in his smoothest cross-exam voice, got Johnny to admit he loved his dad too much to pull the trigger. Then EJ casually pointed out that Belle was his aunt, twisting it into an accusation that she was using personal knowledge to sway the case. The judge scolded EJ for the jab, but the damage was already done. Belle fought back, but EJ’s next move was the nuclear option — telling the court Belle had a serious conflict of interest and calling for an immediate mistrial. Romantic afternoon? Probably over.

Gabi’s Wine, Wit and Work Games

While corporate chaos brewed, Gabi was on her own mission. She met with Steve, who had dug up Titan-DiMera merger files that caught Xander’s attention. Steve wasn’t sure they’d crack the case, but Gabi was ready to keep digging. Later, she rang Xander to suggest dinner, which quickly turned into flirty banter over drinks at The Bistro.

When Xander accused her of wanting Titan-DiMera to fail, Gabi smoothly insisted her future depended on its success. Satisfied for the moment, Xander let her order them a bottle of wine, and it was clear neither of them planned to spend the evening back at the office.

Steve vs. Alex: The Bird Heist Backstory

Alex’s hunt for the source of merger leaks led him straight to Steve, who identified the culprit’s alias as Daniel Lucas but claimed there wasn’t enough to go on. Steve then turned the tables, questioning Alex about his own past charges for grand theft and indecent exposure.

The story? A ridiculous college prank involving stealing a fraternity’s antique parrot worth ten grand, plus a toga wardrobe malfunction during the getaway. Steve ended up laughing and easing off, while Alex promised Stephanie was his number one priority and he’d treat her like royalty.

Anna’s Salem Logic and Ghostly Theories

Back at the DiMera mansion, Tony suspected someone had been dipping into his prized vintage port. Anna denied sneaking anything and instead told him about Susan’s wild claim that Stefano might be alive. Tony rolled his eyes, but Anna reminded him this is Salem, where the dead tend to be more temporary than the living.

Tony vowed to take back DiMera Enterprises with Gabi’s help, while Anna warmed to the plan once she pictured herself designing for Gabi Chic. Whether Stefano’s ghost was watching or not, the power plays in this family were far from over.
