Cat Turns Up the Heat
Chad runs into Cat at the hospital when she brings in Felicity, who is burning up with a fever and rash. Sarah diagnoses strep throat and leaves to call in a prescription. Chad waits to pick it up for Felicity so Cat can take her sister home.
When Chad delivers the medication, Cat gets dizzy. He checks her forehead, which is just as hot as her sister’s. Her temperature? A scorching 103. Chad stays to help, but when he leaves the room for ibuprofen, Cat sends a secret text to Rafe under his fake name James Smith.
Chad comes back to find her dozing on the couch. She murmurs, “I should have told you.” Thinking she is just dreaming, he tells her to rest. Then she opens her eyes, grabs him, and kisses him.
Wine, Shade, and a Whole Lot of Kissing
After mailing a gift to Tate’s baby’s adoptive parents, Brady bumps into Sarah. She is rattled when he mentions Chicago, thinking about Sophia’s baby gender lie, but covers quickly. Brady invites her to The Bistro.
Meanwhile, Gabi is pouring wine into Xander’s glass and pumping him for details on his marriage troubles. Xander admits he did something he regrets and Sarah did something he can never forgive. Gabi encourages him to move on, then plants a steamy kiss on him right as Sarah and Brady walk in.
Xander pulls away, but Sarah insists she and Brady will eat right there. Xander fumes, while Gabi smirks. When Sarah reaches for Brady’s hand, Xander storms over demanding Victoria back. Sarah reminds him about the custody schedule and tells him he is free to make out with whoever he wants. Then she proves her point by grabbing Brady for a kiss. Xander is left speechless.
Courtroom Drama and Public Breakups
In court, Belle calls EJ’s motion for a mistrial absurd. Judge Dabney agrees, calling EJ a hypocrite since he has his own conflicts of interest. Belle ups the ante by announcing on the record that their relationship is officially over. The judge denies EJ’s motion and warns both attorneys to stop wasting time.
Belle storms out, humiliated. Johnny confronts EJ, who claims Belle was hurting his case. Johnny urges him not to let the trial destroy his happiness. EJ says it is too late and takes full blame.
Back in the corridor, Belle tells Marlena she will never forgive EJ. Marlena shuts EJ down before he can speak. In the empty courtroom, Belle delivers the final blow. She tells EJ he only cares about what he wants and that they are finished. Then she spits out the words every soap villain dreads: “You are dead to me, EJ DiMera.”
