The Solo Debate Heats Up as Sharon and Tracy Size Up the Spotlight

Anita's tempted to bring her jazz roots back to the stage, but when she confesses that her agent asked her to perform a solo at the Articulettes concert, things get... complicated. Sharon thinks it's only fair that everyone gets a solo if they're being handed out, but Tracy puts the breaks on that idea real fast.

Tracy insists she’s just there to support Anita and reminds Sharon that Anita earned the spotlight. “Let’s not pretend she didn’t do just fine without us,” Tracy says, with just a touch of sting. Sharon eventually backs off, but there’s definitely tension under the glittery surface. Anita seems ready to keep the peace, but the vibe is more “final dress rehearsal meltdown” than “reunion magic.”

Dani Gives Martin a Verbal Slap Back to Reality

Martin’s still wallowing, refusing to commit to going to the concert, so Dani comes in swinging. No sugarcoating, no gentle nudges. She flat-out calls him a selfish son of a bitch and says everyone’s been tiptoeing around him like he’s made of glass.

Martin tries to explain his pain, but Dani’s not having it. She sympathizes, sure, but she also demands he show up for his family. “Go be Eeyore after the music,” she snaps. Honestly? She’s not wrong. Martin finally agrees to attend, promising to out-cheer the entire crowd. Fingers crossed that pep talk sticks.

Nicole Makes a Last-Ditch Appeal to Smitty

Smitty gets another visitor, and this time it’s Nicole. She wants him to know how much Martin is hurting. But Smitty isn’t feeling forgiving. He reminds her that Martin lied for two years and that pain doesn’t just evaporate. Nicole counters that Martin was trying to protect him, but logic isn’t soothing Smitty’s heartbreak.

Still, Nicole gently urges him to attend the concert. Maybe not for Martin, but for Anita. That pitch lands better, and Smitty agrees — after speaking to Martin one-on-one. When they finally talk, it’s painfully polite, and the air is thick with everything they’re not saying. They part without a hug, but hey, it’s a start.

Vernon and Andre’s Intense Heart-to-Heart

Andre walks into Orphey Gene’s expecting a meal and ends up getting grilled by Vernon instead. Apparently, Daddy Dupree wants to know exactly what Andre’s intentions are with his daughter.

Andre handles it like a pro. He praises Dani’s strength, her self-awareness, and how she holds herself accountable. Vernon is surprisingly impressed and even gives Andre his blessing — but warns him not to screw it up. That’s as close to a Dupree engagement interview as we’ve seen, and Andre passed... for now.

Tyrell Faces the Truth About His Family — and Jessica

Tyrell meets up with Jessica to talk things out, and it’s clear he’s hoping for a fresh start. He owns up to pushing her away and explains that watching his dads fall apart made him scared of repeating the pattern. Jessica doesn’t give him a yes or a no — just a very awkward maybe.

Then Vernon drops in to dish out advice, only to get confronted by Tyrell about the constant secrecy. Tyrell’s tired of being treated like a kid, and Vernon doesn’t exactly deny it. He says the rest of the story isn’t his to tell, but he hopes Martin and Smitty will open up.

Sharon’s Health Scare Could Wreck the Whole Concert

Back at Dupree Manor, Dani jokes with Andre about meeting her dad and nearly proposes marriage in jest. Andre, however, is all business — he’s on his way to meet with the Articulettes.

But before anything can move forward, disaster strikes. Anita comes home to find Tracy practicing and Sharon looking pale and panicked by the window. Suddenly, Sharon can’t catch her breath. She struggles to speak, then finally gasps out a painful sentence: “I’m sorry to let you both down, but I just can’t.”

She bolts from the room, leaving Anita and Tracy stunned and worried. If Sharon’s health takes her out of the show, the concert may not happen at all. The stage was set, the lights were almost on — and now? It could all go dark.

Stay tuned, BTG fans. The Articulettes' big night may be one breath away from total collapse.
