Tony Crashes Dinner and Declares DiMera War

Gabi Pushes Chad Into the Power Seat
Meanwhile, Gabi lures Chad to dinner at The Bistro, not for pleasantries, but because she’s officially done playing nice with the Kiriakis clan. She wants Chad to step up and reclaim DiMera Enterprises, the family “birthright.” Chad's not impressed. He’d rather keep running The Spectator than babysit a criminal enterprise. Gabi warns him that if the company crashes, it’ll take their kids’ futures down with it. Then she shifts gears and grills him about his maybe-romance with Cat. Chad plays it cool, but Gabi knows a vibe when she sees one.
Things get even messier when Tony and EJ roll into the restaurant. Chad hugs his big bro like all is well, but Gabi’s got zero interest in chitchatting with EJ. Before she storms out, Tony asks if she’s heard from Stefan. No surprise, she hasn’t. EJ casually says he got a card, while Tony’s already convinced something’s not right.
Jennifer’s Got Her Eyes on Cat
Over in Horton world, Jack and Jennifer are back in Salem playing Monopoly with JJ, Thomas and dodging questions from their grandkids. Thomas isn’t buying their excuse that they just want to visit more. JJ’s suspicious too. Once the kids head to the kitchen, Jen fesses up — she’s mostly here to keep tabs on Cat. JJ’s not thrilled but offers to help keep an eye on her.

But then chaos breaks out when Thomas blurts that Gabi dumped JJ. Jennifer is not amused and finally learns they were even dating. She runs through Gabi’s criminal record like a grocery list. JJ says it doesn’t matter anyway. Gabi dropped him, and he’s not looking back.
Shane Pulls Cat Back Into the Spy Game
Cat’s just trying to live her post-ISA life in peace when she feels someone creeping up behind her in the square. Turns out it’s Shane Donovan, and he’s got one thing in mind — dragging her back into the field. Cat’s done, or so she thought. Shane’s not giving her a choice. He lays it out: EJ is making moves, and someone with deep pockets is backing him. The ISA wants Cat close to the action to find out who.
Cat’s not thrilled, especially since her last run-in with ISA business nearly killed her. But Shane presses hard and brings up her “personal connection to the case.” Since she’s already working at the hospital with Marlena, she’s in prime position to gather intel. Cat agrees, reluctantly. She’ll report back only if she hears something useful, and when it’s done, she’s done for good. Shane happily agrees, but we all know how these things usually go.
Power Shifts and Unfinished Business
Jack and Jennifer say their goodbyes, promising they’ll be back, but Jen’s eyes are still firmly on Cat. JJ runs into Gabi in the square and apologizes for blaming her for the whole Rafe mess. She’s polite, but not having it. Once she hears it was “new evidence” that changed his tune, she walks away without a second glance.

At The Bistro, Tony, Chad and EJ toast to Stefano, and Tony makes his pitch again about restoring DiMera Enterprises. EJ wants no part of it. He’s over the drama and focused on family and that Versavix patent. Chad’s sticking with his newspaper and Cat, which leaves Tony holding the family legacy bag. As his brothers walk away, Tony mutters to Anna that if anyone’s going to save the DiMeras, it’ll have to be him.
Cat, fresh from her covert assignment briefing, meets up with Chad for dinner, completely unaware that JJ’s lurking in the shadows watching their every move. Someone get this man a hobby.
