Meanwhile, Marlena is serving stoic widow realness while trying to navigate life without John, and Sophia learns childbirth is messier than a Salem wedding reception.

Jennifer Isn’t Here for Cat’s Redemption Arc
Oh honey, Jennifer Rose Horton has had it. After learning that Chad took a literal flying leap—yes, skydiving—with Cat Greene, she wasted no time letting Jack know she’s not about to let Abigail’s doppelgänger worm her way into the family. Jack, bless his sentimental heart, played devil’s advocate, suggesting that Chad might still be clinging to the ghost of feelings from Cat’s twisted impersonation days. Jennifer wasn’t buying it for a second. Her gut says Abigail is gone, and they all need to move forward—but not with Cat in the picture.
Meanwhile, Chad was out here trying to be Tom Cruise in Mission: Ridiculous, panicking over waivers and landing hard enough to tweak his ankle. After the jump, Cat helped him hobble home like a supportive girlfriend wannabe, only to be met with Jennifer’s ice-cold stare. She threw Cat out of the Horton house faster than you can say "gaslighting grifter," and once alone, Cat did the noble thing—for once—by calling Chad to say she’s bowing out of his life. We’ll see how long that lasts.
Marlena Grieves With Grace—and Dumplings
Marlena is trying to keep it classy in her mourning period, but the pain is real. Carrie showed up to flip through old photo albums of John, and while there were tears, there was also warmth. Enter Amy and Sophia, dropping by with Tate and a plate of mandu like Marlena’s running a Korean fusion grief cafe. Amy shared a sweet memory of John saving her from a flat tire back in the day, and Marlena tried to be polite, though emotionally she was about as checked in as a Salem PD detective on vacation.
After they left, Marlena got some good news—Sydney’s surgery went well. Cue the waterworks. Sami couldn’t say goodbye to her dad, but John always understood. That kind of grace doesn’t grow on trees in Salem. Later, Marlena confided in Anna and Carrie that when the funeral’s over, it’s going to be painfully quiet. Carrie offered to stick around, but Marlena, ever the stoic queen, said she’d figure it out. Somehow, she always does.
Kate’s Manuscript is Hotter Than Her Temper
While the hospital was buzzing with babies and drama, Kate was multitasking like only she can—editing Stephanie’s romance novel in between hospital gossip and passive-aggressive digs with Anna. When Anna showed off pics of Noah’s graduation, Kate rolled her eyes so hard we’re surprised they didn’t get stuck. But it wasn’t all snark—Anna read part of the manuscript and nearly combusted. Let’s just say if Roman’s getting what’s in those pages, he’s one lucky man.
Of course, chaos followed. Kate left the manuscript out like it was a waiting room brochure, and Amy scooped it up faster than you can say “nosy mom.” She managed to hide it when Kate came sniffing around, then left it behind after Sophia had a pregnancy panic attack from watching birthing videos. Childbirth reality hit Sophia hard—she realized it’s less “miracle of life” and more “trauma with stitches.” Poor Tate tried to be reassuring, but Sophia wasn’t here for a front-row seat audience during delivery. Honestly, can you blame her?
Kate Vows Revenge, and Anna Brings Drama
Over in Philip’s hospital room, Kate was laying it all out for her unconscious son. She swore up and down that she’d make sure Xander never touches him again—especially now that the Scottish menace is out on bail. And when Belle called with that little nugget of legal failure, Kate’s blood pressure hit the stratosphere. She doesn’t forgive and she sure as hell doesn’t forget.
Meanwhile, Anna was making her rounds like the glamorous grief ambassador of Salem, comforting Marlena and throwing shade where necessary. The woman may be dramatic, but at least she’s consistent.
So there you have it—Jennifer’s laying down the law, Marlena’s redefining elegant mourning, and Sophia’s reconsidering motherhood after one graphic hospital tour. With all this happening on Days of Our Lives, who even needs reality TV?
