GH Recap | Gio’s Overhears the Truth & Drops A Bomb on Port Charles - Thursday, May 22, 2025 [SPOILERS]

Thursday's General Hospital full episode recap is packed with deception, betrayal, and one emotionally-charged mic drop that literally ends with a shattered violin. Curtis and Portia work to keep Drew’s blackmail under wraps. Nina is on the warpath, promising to torch Carly and Michael’s chances in court with some brutal testimony. But the real headline? Gio absolutely obliterates his world—and his violin—when he learns Brook Lynn and Dante are actually his parents. That’s right, the Nurses Ball went from glam to chaotic the moment Gio smashed more than just notes.

Curtis and Portia Play Happy… Until They Don’t

Portia is out here begging Curtis to pretend their marriage isn't a pile of lies, and Curtis — ever the brooding husband — agrees to keep up appearances just for tonight. Not because he’s feeling charitable, mind you, but because he wants to keep Drew from knowing the jig is up. Oh, and did we mention Curtis knows Drew is blackmailing Portia? Just another day in Port Charles.

Meanwhile, Curtis shares one of his patented stares with Jordan, and Portia catches it. Cue the nervous sipping of champagne.

Nina vs. Carly: Powder Room Edition

Over in the powder room of doom, Nina and Carly are trading barbs like it's a sport. Nina blames Carly for pushing the court date. Carly claps back and calls Nina’s narrative "spin." Nina threatens to air Michael’s parenting sins in court, and Carly basically tells her to bring it.

Drew, Ned, and the Battle of Bad Decisions

Ned is playing detective, accusing Drew of planting evidence to frame his mom. Drew, in peak smugness, denies everything while Willow is caught in the middle, telling anyone who’ll listen that she’s not a victim. Olivia doesn’t buy it and warns her this will blow up faster than a Nurses Ball number gone wrong.

Lulu Drops the Paternity Bomb

Backstage, Lulu drops a truth nuke on Lois: Gio isn’t just some rando musical prodigy — he’s Brook Lynn and Dante’s kid. Yes, Lois pulled a full soap opera stunt and passed him off as her grandson, with zero chill. Lulu is DONE with secrets and gives Lois an ultimatum — spill the truth or she will. And soon.

Chase Sings, Brook Lynn Swoons

Chase and the gang deliver a killer performance of “The Look of Love,” and Brook Lynn practically combusts from how hot he looked on stage. They share a kiss, which Lucy immediately shuts down because PDA backstage is a no-go, apparently. Lucy’s too busy panicking about missing performers to care about romance right now.

Lois Spirals, Lulu’s Not Backing Down

Lois tries the guilt trip route, begging Lulu to think about the “lives she’ll destroy” by revealing the truth. Lulu’s not here for the drama — or maybe she is — because she storms off like a woman on a mission. But the secret's already halfway out the door.

Gio’s World Crashes Down

Emma finds Gio sulking on the patio, and he’s an emotional train wreck. Turns out he just heard everything. Yup, his entire life has been a lie — and he just found out who his real parents are moments before he’s supposed to perform. That’s enough to mess with anyone's tuning.

But Gio, ever the tortured artist, wipes his tears and says the show must go on. It’s time to take the stage — violin, vengeance, and all.

One Violin, Two Parents, and a Whole Lotta Rage

With Anna and Chase mid-tango and the audience entranced, Gio makes his move. He dedicates the performance to his real parents — the ones who “didn’t want him.” Cue gasps. Cue Brook Lynn crying. Cue Dante looking like he’s been hit by a freight train. Then comes the grand finale: Gio smashes his violin into oblivion on stage in front of the entire crowd.

The Fallout Begins…

Brook Lynn is a wreck. Dante looks like his soul left his body. Lois is shaking in her heels. And Lucy? Lucy just wants to get through the ball without another scandal — poor thing never gets her wish.
