Cane and Lily | Y&R, CBS SONY |
Kyle Feels the Weight of It All
Kyle’s bags are packed, but his heart is heavy. The minute Claire answers his call, he breathes easier. Yes, she’s safe, but her father Cole didn’t make it. Kyle explains the nightmare to her: Cane Ashby’s chateau turned out to be a horror show complete with murders, a suicide, and days stranded without phones. Jack fumes about Cane costing two good men their lives, while Billy braces for Jill’s fury and Phyllis dreads telling Summer. Kyle’s guilt bubbles over as he confesses to Jack and Diane that petty revenge kept him away when Claire needed him most.
Cane Can’t Escape the Shadow of Carter
In his office, Cane watches security footage that caught the fatal gunshot, his face carved with regret. Amanda assures him the investigation is closed and Carter’s recorded confession cleared him, but Cane isn’t convinced. Nick’s lying in a hospital bed because Cane pegged him as a murderer, and Chance died a hero saving lives on his property. Even Amanda can’t shake Cane’s obsession with his master plan. Everything still comes back to Lily, and Cane has no intention of walking away from his vision for Chancellor, no matter how many people stand in his way.
Lily Breaks Nate’s Heart
Nate, dressed to honor Cole, takes Lily’s call on Victoria’s porch and hears the news that changes everything. His brother Damian was murdered by Cane’s twisted assistant, who wrongly saw him as a rival for Lily’s heart. Nate reels as Lily admits she and Damian had been romantically involved. Fighting back tears, she wanted Nate to hear it from her before the news hit Genoa City. Later, Nate shares the heartbreak with Victoria and Claire, lamenting the lost time with a brother he thought he had forever to know.
Cane’s Unwanted Farewell Tour
Before the train departs, Cane drops by Lily’s to say goodbye. She unleashes her fury, reminding him she just shattered Nate’s world and that Chance’s death will crush Jill and Nina. Cane vows to make things right, but Lily is having none of it. Returning to Genoa City would be a colossal mistake, she warns. Cane still clings to the idea of redemption, insisting the love they shared cannot have vanished. Lily makes it crystal clear that the only thing waiting for him in town is anger and rejection. Hearing the train whistle, she yells after him to stay away.
Loose Ends and Lingering Tension
Phyllis needles Billy for details about his big talk of “change” once they get back home, but he keeps his cards close. Audra and Sally sip drinks, saving their gossip for somewhere more private. Kyle vents his anger at Audra, accusing her of trapping him on that cursed mountain while Claire lost her father. He spits out a warning that Victor never lets failure slide and Audra’s day of reckoning is coming. Meanwhile, Cane swipes everything off his desk in frustration, clinging to the belief that Lily’s heart can still be won. We all know that Lily does not agree.
