Xander’s walking a fine line between heartbreak and handcuffs, Sarah’s head is spinning from emotional whiplash, and Kate can’t keep track of anything—especially her son’s attacker or a crucial manuscript. Welcome to another wild and chaotic day in Salem, because Friday's Days of Our Lives recap is anything but peaceful.

Xander & Sarah | DOOL, Peacock |
Xander Pushes Sarah to the Edge
When your love life involves custody threats and possible murder charges, it's safe to say things are not going well. Sarah, still reeling from John’s death and her own tangled emotions, is on edge. She vents to Maggie about Xander’s violent tendencies, his delusions, and how she regrets trusting him. And yet, the man’s still in her head. Even Maggie’s side-eye can’t shake Sarah’s conflict—because let’s be real, loving Xander is like hugging a cactus, but with a better body.
Things take a turn when Sarah considers skipping town with Victoria to dodge the drama. But Maggie, always the grounded queen, warns her that if Xander ends up in prison mid-custody battle, it could backfire spectacularly. Sarah’s lightbulb moment leads to a call to Xander and a dramatic showdown. She lays down visitation rules like a boss—supervised only, no pop-ins, all on her schedule. Xander plays it cool and accepts, but when she shuts down his request to see Victoria right then, he snaps. Naturally. He tosses her the baby dress he bought and storms off, all but blaming her for Philip’s latest brush with death. Classy, as always.
Kate’s Chaos Continues
Kate’s also having a week. Between sitting vigil at Philip’s bedside and trying to pin his condition on Xander, she’s also misplacing Stephanie’s precious manuscript like it’s a grocery list. After walking in on Alex and Stephanie’s very public desk party, Kate drops the bomb: she lost the one-of-a-kind story that could make or break a career. No big deal. Stephanie’s out planning Steve’s retirement bash and probably has no clue her work was left like lost luggage at the hospital.
Luckily, Kayla stumbles upon it at the nurse’s station (because of course it’s just sitting there), and instead of immediately calling her daughter, she hides out with it in her office. Priorities. Then EJ shows up, pitching himself as the hospital’s savior while Kayla flat-out tells him she didn’t vote for him. She may not trust Xander, but she sure doesn’t trust EJ either. Fair enough.
Stephanie’s Party Plans and Jada’s Awkward Exit
Stephanie’s putting her energy where it counts—dad’s retirement party. She wants to throw Steve a dinner at the Bistro to boost his spirits, and even ropes Jada into attending. But as soon as Jada walks into Steph and Alex’s apartment, she basically walks right back out when the lovebirds start lip-locking. She’s seen enough.
Meanwhile, Shawn’s trying to repair whatever’s left of his dignity. He apologizes to Jada for lying about being sick, and Jada, probably too tired to deal, just nods it off. Belle’s bouncing between grieving her dad and dodging EJ, while still managing to be there for Shawn. The exes hug it out at the square just as EJ sees them—because nothing says “awkward” like your new-old flame watching you hug your ex.
Belle’s Brain is Fried
Belle’s a mess, but at this point who isn't in Salem? Between John’s death and the EJ/Shawn tug-of-war, she’s got no emotional bandwidth left. She tells EJ she needs space, and for once, he doesn’t press. But his sad puppy routine is clearly working on her. Later, when Shawn brings up a possible joint visit to Claire and Theo, Belle doesn’t shut it down. Oh boy. One hug and they’re already reminiscing, just as EJ creeps by in the background like it’s a bad rom-com.
Xander’s Pillow Talk with Philip Is Deadly
Let’s talk about that final scene. Xander, in all his brooding glory, sneaks into Philip’s hospital room and gets real cozy. Too cozy. He fluffs a pillow with all the menace of a Bond villain and whispers something that sounds a whole lot like a threat. Philip’s still out cold, but if Xander has his way, he might stay that way permanently. Oh, and Kate? She’s busy trying to find the missing manuscript and barely realizes the Grim Reaper may be paying her son a private visit.
At this point, everyone in Salem is either lying, crying, or about to commit a felony. And this “DOOL” recap proves once again: trust is optional, secrets are mandatory and Xander with a pillow? Never good news.
